Jetpack
This activates a jetpack when you hold in the spacebar (longer than .35 seconds). See the video for details/examples
I do my best to not clip through walls/ground, but just in case, I’d recommend that you also have FreeFly installed. With it, you can easily get unstuck
This jetpack mod is intended to be used during standard gameplay (outdoors at least), whereas freefly pauses the game and lets you go anywhere. Both mods listen to spacebar, so you’ll want to change freefly’s up to something like E
Before installing this, you will need to have Cyber Engine Tweaks installed
Installing these isn’t hard, just unzip and copy. See attached video for details
Known issues
I haven’t found a way to detect the difference between when you’re running around vs when you’re in the menus (inventory, journal, etc), or in a braindance, driving, sitting during quest cutscenes. So if you hold in space too long at the wrong times, the result could be bad. Which shouldn’t be a problem, because there’s no reason to hold down the spacebar except when jumping/jetpacking
But just be aware
Also, this causes a crash to desktop after you hit the quit game button. Annoying, but I guess if there was a time to crash…
If anyone finds ways for me to fix this, I would really appreciate it
Future enhancements
Flight is achieved by tiny teleport increments. The proper way would be to just apply accelerations and let the physics engine do the rest, but teleporting seems to be the only way. The teleport function also wants a look direction, so I’ll need to observe mouse deltas to adjust left/right look direction
Sound
Modify props based on what attributes you have (tech increases fuel capacity, reflex increases acceleration, etc). That way the jetpack will get better as you level and be unique to your character
