Impact Kill Looting Fix v1.0
Fixes the issue where killing an NPC by hitting them with a vehicle (and some other methods) would mean V can’t loot their bodies.
Basics:
Fixes the issue where killing an NPC by hitting them with a vehicle would mean V can’t loot their bodies.
Bodies killed by impacts such as being hit by a car would show as having loot, but be non-interactive.
This also fixes similar “impact” kills such as those with the iconic ‘Guts’ shotgun.
As well as fixing the inability to loot this also allows V to carry those same bodies (if they are a carry-able type of body)
Optional file: ‘Impact Kill Looting Fix Experimental (Car Bodies)’
Includes an extra change that means V can also loot bodies still sat in cars.
Known side effect: V can ‘pick up’ these bodies too, which doesn’t work as well and might be why this is meant to be blocked.
Why isn’t this part of Deceptious Bug Fixes?
As this mod affects looting I want it to be very isolated just in case it it has any negative side effects I haven’t seen yet
If there are any issues the isolation makes it much easier to bisect/diagnose, and solve (by removing this one mod)
Bonus: Anyone searching for a ‘Looting Fix’ mod will be able to find this mod
If the mod proves to be 100% airtight, with no side effects, it will probably get merged into Deceptious Bug Fixes at some point.
I just need a lot of confirmation/feedback from the users/community first!
Languages:
Mod has no language/text components, so works for all localization.
Installation:
Unzip the main, or optional, zip into “Cyberpunk 2077” folder so that the:
ImpactKillLootingFix.archive (or ImpactKillLootingFixExperimental.archive) file ends up in the “Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\mod” folder
Uninstall:
Simply delete/remove the ImpactKillLootingFix.archive (or ImpactKillLootingFixExperimental.archive) file from in the “Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\mod” folder
Compatibility:
No conflicts expected, this is a very small, targeted, mod.
Limitations and bugs
I’ve tested the fix on both Human and Mechanical enemies and it works for both.
If there are any special types of enemies, or bugs/side effects, please let me know on the Bugs tab!
